Kaleido is basically Martin Ilmoni's melting pot for creative talent in the field of audiovisual media; tv-documentaries, tv-fiction, short films, screenplays, music – a good product is always the result of the right people working together. Though Martin often has many roles in the productions (and his biggest challenge is to get along with himself), all the critically acclaimed work never could have bin finalized without the right chemistry between co-workers. That's one of the reasons Kaleido isn't a company with a hired staff waiting for orders. Collaboration means both working with major producers in different companies but also working with talented freelancers and assistants all over Europe.

The Archipelago Odyssey
pre-production in progress

An odyssey through the unique Finnish archipelago (Fredrikshamn-Mariehamn), comprising tens of thousands of islands. The series follows a presenter couple travelling in an old style wooden boat – no horsepower show-off here! – through the archipelago. The aim is to get a glimpse of the soul of archipelago life. We’ll meet different sorts of people – old fishermen and relaxed summer guests. We’ll talk about the big issues of life as well as ordinary, day-to-day things. We’ll dwelve into history, folklore and stories from the past. We’ll tune to the more lyrical aspects of archipelago life, with music, poems and grand nature. We’ll take a breather from the usual hubbub of the techno-chaos.
